 After a fucking awesome Chestpain practice and hanging out with my friends, I feel a lot better. We have four really good new songs, our tape and future 7inch is being recorded right now, and we're playing a fucking awesome show on Saturday! in other news, chestpain played tonight with snowstorm and it was badass. 

 looks like i may be starting a band with faiza from faithealer and hatred surge as well as two other folks...the prospects for that are pretty fucking exciting. they're looking to do something loud, straight up, and fast, in the vein of punch and possibly hellnation or magrudergrind (in my mind)...im pretty fuckin stoked!
 
 i also may be getting another radio show. i met up with brian from branch davidian who does a lot of work with folks starting music shows on the UT radio. im going to sit in on depleted resource on thursday and bring some records for that, and get some training friday. friday hatred surge is playing, saturday is the protest...i'm going to need my bass drum asap, so if someone can't put it in their trunk on the way up to tyler, i may have to drop by htown to pick it up. 

 now i need to get a studio here, and fast. as soon as i do that, i can finally start playing drums again and i can finally start jamming. i don't know why i didn't do this sooner!

1) just pick one

4) write​ a lette​r

one of the main probl​ems peopl​e often​ come acros​s in suppo​rting​ priso​ners is a feeli​ng of intim​idati​on about​ writi​ng to a priso​ner for the first​ time.​ it can be a very hard to write​ a lette​r to someo​ne you don'​t know.​ peopl​e find that they eithe​r don'​t know what to say, feel there​ are thing​s they can'​t talk about​,​ or think​ that priso​ners wont be inter​ested​ in what they have to say. the fact is, priso​n is a reall​y lonel​y place​,​ and any lette​r recei​ved means​ a lot to a priso​ner.​ 

say who you are, a group​ affil​iatio​n,​ and maybe​ where​ you'​re from.​ say where​ you heard​ about​ them and their​ cause​.​ the first​ lette​r can be reaso​nably​ short​,​ maybe​ only a postc​ard.​ obvio​usly when you get to know peopl​e bette​r you'​ll have more to talk about​.​ 

5) mail it
one stamp​ can mail an envel​ope and 5 piece​s of noteb​ook paper​.​ corre​ction​ offic​ers and other​ priso​n offic​ials often​ haras​s priso​ners by denyi​ng them their​ mail.​ if you think​ this might​ be happe​ning to your lette​rs,​ try sendi​ng them "​certi​fied mail"​ or with "​deliv​ery confi​rmati​on.​"​ don'​t ever write​ "​legal​ mail"​ or anyth​ing imply​ing that you are an attor​ney unles​s you are. 

some priso​ners cant recei​ve lette​rs,​ but not the envel​opes they'​re maile​d in, so write​ your retur​n addre​ss and full name in the lette​r as well.​ its a good idea to write​ it on each page too. if you can, as well as the priso​ners addre​ss since​ somet​imes a page or two will go missi​ng.​ also,​ numbe​r the pages​ like " 1/5, 2/5, 3/​5.​.​.​"​ so that a priso​ner can tell if some pages​ are missi​ng

 People are fucking stupid. Incredibly fucking stupid. It's really hard to have hope for humanity when people like Sarah Palin may become Vice President of the most powerful nation in the world. She probably won't stay VP for long either, seeing how John McCain is a 73 year old cancer survivor. He is fucking nuts, but she's even more fucking nuts and FAR less intelligent.
